The Storm is the compact speaker of Thor Tuning's Active Sound range. Designed with a spherical high-resistance polymer shell, it's responsible for reproducing the engine's low and mid frequencies — those that give character, depth, and presence to your vehicle's sound.
Its spherical shape isn't an aesthetic choice: it optimizes sound diffusion in all directions and delivers a natural and dynamic sound, perfectly synchronized with engine RPM and accelerator pedal position thanks to the Thor module connected to the vehicle's CAN-Bus.
To fully understand the Storm's value, you need to understand how a Thor Active Sound system is organized. A complete kit always relies on three families of components:
It's the smart module that connects to the vehicle's CAN-Bus. It reads in real time the accelerator, engine RPM, and speed, then sends the sound signal to the speaker(s). It's also the part that updates via the Thor app and drives the sound library.

There's an important detail to know when choosing a Storm: the sound library is limited by default. Concretely, the Thor module shipped with the Level 1 configuration gives access to 10 reference sounds: Audi R8, Mercedes AMG G63, Nissan GT-R, Lamborghini Urus, BMW X6M, Ford Mustang '66, Chevrolet Corvette C7, and a few others. These are already 10 excellent-quality sounds — but it's not the entire Thor catalog.
To unlock the full library (28+ sounds), the special sounds, the Boombox mode, and future monthly updates, you need to activate a dedicated option called Thor Pro — a €149 upgrade, one-time payment, no subscription.
The Level 1 configuration is deliberately positioned as the most accessible gateway into the Thor range. To keep this entry price low, the module ships with a restricted sound library — but already very high-quality. You get the most iconic sounds (American V8s, Lambo V10, AMG V8, GT-R) without having to invest more.
Note: Level 2, Level 3 and Level 4 configurations all ship with Thor Pro included. The Thor Pro upgrade is therefore only useful for Level 1 owners (Storm only or Storm + Echo) who want to unlock the entire catalog.

On EVs, it's often recommended to pair it with an Echo speaker, since there's no underlying engine noise to support the rendering.
No. The Thor installation is 100% reversible and doesn't alter the engine, the exhaust line, or the original electronics. The system turns off when the ignition is cut or via the app, and can be entirely uninstalled at any time.
At 80 dB on Level 1, the Storm is very civilized. That's a level comparable to a lively conversation or moderate urban traffic. It has nothing to do with a non-homologated modified exhaust. Plus, volume is fully controllable via the app: you can lower it, mute it, or activate a discreet mode for early-morning starts or residential areas.
